AI does not provide legal advice. It does not replace a lawyer's professional judgment, MAS regulatory assessment, or external counsel opinion. It does not take professional responsibility for the accuracy of its outputs. It can hallucinate clauses, misread statutory requirements, and produce plausible-sounding text that is legally incorrect. Every AI output touching legal substance requires professional review by a qualified lawyer before it is relied upon.
What AI does — when used correctly by trained legal professionals — is eliminate the mechanical first-draft work so qualified people can focus on the judgment-intensive parts of their role. The lawyer who spends 90 minutes typing out a standard NDA is not providing more legal value than one who reviews and refines a 10-minute AI draft. But the reviewing lawyer still needs to be a lawyer, applying professional judgment to every clause before it leaves the firm.
The training is explicit about this boundary. We don't teach legal teams to delegate professional judgment to AI. We teach them to use AI for the drafting and research work that precedes professional judgment — so that professional judgment has more time and fewer mechanical tasks to work through.
This distinction also matters from a professional responsibility perspective. The Singapore Law Society and the Law Society of England and Wales have both issued guidance on AI use in legal practice. We stay current with those guidelines and incorporate them into the training content for legal teams.

The scepticism is healthy and we'd rather work with it than around it. The training positions AI output as a first draft that the lawyer reviews, not a finished product that bypasses their judgment. Most legal professionals are comfortable with that framing once they've seen the output quality — the question shifts from "can I trust this?" to "is this a useful starting point that saves me time?" For teams with significant internal scepticism, we recommend starting the programme with an open discussion about where the boundary sits, rather than positioning AI as a solution to legal problems. The professionals who become most effective with AI tools are generally the ones who remain appropriately sceptical — they edit more carefully and catch errors more reliably than those who over-trust the output.
Claude has strong coverage of Singapore law, Singapore-specific regulatory frameworks (MAS, PDPC, ACRA, MOM), and Singapore commercial practice. The programme covers the relevant TRM considerations — data classification, outsourcing risk assessment, vendor due diligence requirements — as they apply to using tools like Claude Cowork in a regulated financial institution. The Law Society of Singapore has issued guidance on the responsible use of AI by legal practitioners.
