Where ChatGPT Still Wins
If you need image generation, ChatGPT's DALL-E integration is good and Claude Cowork does not generate images. If you are on a tight budget, ChatGPT's free tier is generous and capable — Claude Cowork requires a paid plan. If you are on mobile, ChatGPT's mobile app is excellent and Claude Cowork is desktop only.
If your team is already deeply embedded in the OpenAI ecosystem with custom GPTs and workflows built around ChatGPT, switching carries a transition cost worth factoring in.
